This past winter, I mentioned www.houzz.com as a site I had my eye on. I’ve been watching it grow and I think (or at least, I hope) it’s here to stay.
The site is designed to be a resource and inspiration tool for professional designers and homeowners. There are over 400,000 photos to browse and collect in your own, online ideabook.
You can search by style, space and metro area. Of course, there is also a powerful “search” feature that allows you to truly specialize the findings. Here, for example, is the link to a search for “timber frame”: http://www.houzz.com/timber-frame.
Houzz.com succeeds in functionality, usability and desired outcome. Relevant to the latter, it is incredibly easy to create your own ideabook to share with your builder. The inspiration may be sparked online, but the final result will be tailored for you.
Check it out. It’s addicting!
Thanks,
Jared
