Wood takes on an unmistakable and inimitable patina as it ages. Artists can faux age wood with certain stains and paints, but no amount of sanding can duplicate the smooth surface of a well-worn timber. Old wood has earned its scars and its character.
As we look forward to a new year, bringing change and new projects, let’s celebrate how the past has helped form our lives. A house will never take precedence over our friends and families, but they are the keepers of stories and memories all the same.
