In the hiatus away from the Black Canyon Builders blog, a lot has happened. I’ve begun a new timber frame project and fall has hit ~ and is now leaving ~ the Four Corners. One of the best things about living or vacationing in the Southwest is having the benefit of four distinct seasons. Sometimes, though, one seasons gets a little impatient. Fall has been holding strong in Durango, but winter has come to our neighbors in Pagosa Springs and Telluride.
Wolf Creek Ski Area, just outside of Pagosa, was the first ski resort to open this year – firing up the lifts on October 8. After a few weeks of idyllic Indian Summer, another storm system came through and Wolf Creek is reporting 12″ in the past 24-hours, with nearly 70″ for the season-to-date.
Telluride Ski Resort won’t until November 25, but check out the blanket of snow across the valley on their webcams.
As for my new project, it’s another in-town, Durango project. We’re taking two smaller homes and connecting them into a single, larger living space. There will be timber frame elements, as well as some stick built sections. I’ll keep you posted on the progress, with pictures.
Thanks for reading. We’re back to a regular posting schedule – so check back in next week.
